Easter

We’ve started a whole new month and the clues of spring have started to appear. I am always happy to have the flowers coming up and I love to feel the weather change from cold to cool.
As you can see from the pictures we are all set for Easter here at Razberry Threads.

We have filled our window with lots of bunnies. We just got in Bunnies on the Bay which are the sweetest, softest little stuffed animals and baby toys that you could ask for.
I have bunnies and lambs and puppies in little blankies and binkie covers.
My favorite bunny that came in is cream and he is absolutely the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen and he is so soft and I just want to carry him around and never put him down.
You all should come by the store to see all the new items that we have and buy something for your little one to put in their Easter basket- something that will last longer than the candy will.
I will be going down to Florida soon to see if I can sell any of my clothes to the stores there to increase the visibility of my line. Now that it is getting to summer there again it will be time for the stores to start selling their play dresses again.
Talk to you all soon,
Susan
Easter Joy

Jesus came to earth,
To show us how to live,
How to put others first,
How to love and how to give.

Then He set about His work,
That God sent Him to do;
He took our punishment on Himself;
He made us clean and new.

He could have saved Himself,
Calling angels from above,
But He chose to pay our price for sin;
He paid it out of love.

Our Lord died on Good Friday,
But the cross did not destroy
His resurrection on Easter morn
That fills our hearts with joy.

Now we know our earthly death,
Like His, is just a rest.
We’ll be forever with Him
In heaven, where life is best.

So we live our lives for Jesus,
Think of Him in all we do.
Thank you Savior; Thank you Lord.
Help us love like you!

ReArranging

Well, another week has gone by and I spent all day Sunday after church working in my craft room. I have a new sewing amchine that came in- a new surger. My husband spent four hours putting it together the other night. So it is together, but I need to make room in my sewing room for it.
I ordered some shelving that is going to hold the majority of my fabric. I have way too much fabric, about seventy five bolts (just at home, not counting what is at the store). I have two shelves coming in. They are six feet wide by seven feet high. They should be here tomorrow so that I can start getting everything in place.
Then I am going to stick the new sewing machine in the middle of the floor and put my cutting area right next to it, which will hopefully give me enough room to walk around it. Plus I will be able to sew and cut at the same time (Yes, I am wonderwoman! Haha).
I also need room for my coverstitch machine which I am still trying to figure out.
I am so excited about my new machine though; I tried it out today and it works beautifully, and it is so quiet that you do not even realize that it is running. It is unbelievable.
Now I can start on all my new products. I already started on my swaddle blankets today. I have a new fabric from Micheal Miller with gorgeous colors. I prewashed some of it to see what it would look like/ feel like. It came out really soft and crinkly and just lush.
Well, I guess that is all for now. I just wanted to tell you about my new room and sewing machine. I will post a picture when it gets done.

Artist’s Life

by

Wheeler Wilcox

Of all the waltzes the great Strauss wrote,
mad with melody, rhythm–rife
From the very first to the final note,
Give me his “Artist’s Life!”

It stirs my blood to my finger ends,
Thrills me and fills me with vague unrest,
And all that is sweetest and saddest blends
Together within my breast.

It brings back that night in the dim arcade,
In love’s sweet morning and life’s best prime,
When the great brass orchestra played and played,
And set our thoughts to rhyme.

It brings back that Winter of mad delights,
Of leaping pulses and tripping feet,
And those languid moon-washed Summer nights
When we heard the band in the street.

It brings back rapture and glee and glow,
It brings back passion and pain and strife,
And so of all the waltzes I know,
Give me the “Artist’s Life.”

For it is so full of the dear old time–
So full of the dear friends I knew.
And under its rhythm, and lilt, and rhyme,
I am always finding–you.

Toddler Sleep Set

Well, on Saturday morning I got up really early because I had an idea for a new set for newborns- a sleep sack and a hat and my new drool bib. I got in this great organic elephant print from birch fabrics which is so plush; it has a real softness to it. I pre-washed it, and then I added a wonderful pink and grey striped fabric. The pink is so soft that you almost can not tell that it is pink. It is muted and lush and feels like heaven.
I made the cutest drool bib with the elephants on the front and the stripe on the back and I think that I am going to keep making these because they are just so soft and wonderful. You can keep it around the child’s neck more often because it is so comfortable.

I found a pattern for it earlier, but I did not like it so I revised it. I changed it so that there was less fabric on the back of the baby’s neck. I like it better this way. You all will have to tell me if you agree next time you come in the store.
But the whole thing we sell as a set now. As shown below:

I hope to see you all soon.

Baby Face
by Carl Sandburg

WHITE MOON comes in on a baby face.
The shafts across her bed are flimmering.

Out on the land White Moon shines,
Shines and glimmers against gnarled shadows,
All silver to slow twisted shadows
Falling across the long road that runs from the house.

Keep a little of your beauty
And some of your flimmering silver
For her by the window to-night
Where you come in, White Moon.

Still Wishing for Spring

Well, I have been sewing all day today making a bunch of matching dresses in beautiful Easter colors. I have pinks and yellows and blue greens. They are so crisp and clean that I am falling in love with them.
I also made some bandanas today. The new bib bandana that is for babies from 0-12 months. They are made of cute, soft beautiful organic fabrics. They are comfortable and cozy around the neck. I made them in neutral colors to match the rest of my organic baby line.

They are cute and they wash really well. Upon request I made them with Velcro instead of a button so that they are adjustable.
I just thought I would give everyone an update. I will be adding pictures of the new dresses coming out for spring soon. I am just now putting all the labels and sizes on them. Soon they will be available in the store and by special order on this website.
Have a great day Everyone!

To Spring
By William Blake

O thou with dewy locks, who lookest down
Through the clear windows of the morning, turn
Thine angel eyes upon our western isle,
Which in full choir hails thy approach, O Spring!

The hills tell one another, and the listening
Valleys hear; all our longing eyes are turn’d
Up to thy bright pavilions: issue forth
And let thy holy feet visit our clime!

Come o’er the eastern hills, and let our winds
Kiss thy perfumèd garments; let us taste
Thy morn and evening breath; scatter thy pearls
Upon our lovesick land that mourns for thee.

O deck her forth with thy fair fingers; pour
Thy soft kisses on her bosom; and put
Thy golden crown upon her languish’d head,
Whose modest tresses are bound up for thee.

New Items!

Another great week it has been!

All my stuff from the mart is starting to come in and we are getting so many new items it seems like every day. The one thing that I love so much is the Sea Salt Soap.

20160212_172841

I have used it for years and I absolutely love it. It makes your skin so soft and creamy and honestly, I think that it has taken away most of my wrinkles. It is the best soap I have ever used in my life. We got it in two days ago and I have already sold the first case. I only have one case left, so I will have reorder shortly.

We also are carrying some sea salt hand creams from this line. They smell divine and are not greasy like a lot of hand cream is. A little goes a long way and you do not have to stand around waiting for it to dry. It absorbs quickly.

We also got in some of our new bamboo line – Night shirts and pillowcases that have the cutest sayings. The one I just sold said “Love you” on one pillow and “Love you more” on the other for a matching set.

Faceplant Dreams is the company that makes them. The fabrics are so soft you just want to melt into them. They are made of bamboo and you will want to stay in them forever. Just touching them makes you feel cozy inside.

I just put in an order for some super cute bicycle handbags and some Paris handbags that I think you will love. I also have bicycle scarfs coming in probably next week. They are just a lot of cute designs that I could not resist.

Well, I will let you know more when we get some of the new items in. I hope to see you all soon.

Spring

Sound the flute!
Now it’s mute!
Bird’s delight,
Day and night,
Nightingale,
In the dale,
Lark in sky,–
Merrily,
Merrily merrily, to welcome in the year.

Little boy,
Full of joy;
Little girl,
Sweet and small;
Cock does crow,
So do you;
Merry voice,
Infant noise;
Merrily, merrily, to welcome in the year.

Little lamb,
Here I am;
Come and lick
My white neck;
Let me pull
Your soft wool;
Let me kiss
Your soft face;
Merrily, merrily, to welcome in the year.
